Grade 8 Algebra I

The 8th grade Algebra class finished their first chapter on Variables , Graphs, and Introduction to Functions.
They did a general review of variables, expressions and simplifying.
The students looked at the set of Real Numbers and the subsets of Rational Numbers and Integers.
The chapter continued with a review of graphing ordered pairs in coordinate plane.
The students were introduced to a scatterplot to determine a correlation between two sets of data.
This lesson led to the introduction of patterns and as well as reading and writing a function rule.
The chapter concluded with a review of Measures of Central Tendencies (mean, median, mode, range and outlier).
A test concluded the chapter on Sept. 27.
The class has begun Chapter 2 with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing rational numbers.
